Hmmm

Interesting few days. Monday J was in for almost a whole day which is the 1st since December! He's officially still called up but off "sick" with a sore wrist (suspected carpal tunnel syndrome I think). It was nice to have the full team back together and with his return came the return of the boys and I going for our run. I did put on my HRM but knew I wouldn't be using it properly! We did the normal route which gave me my longest run since January and it was just a few seconds of my 5K PB which was fab! The HR also confirmed that this was indeed a tempo run coming in at an average of about 85%. Whilst off J had been advised from his RAF PT about using a HRM and had bought one - not used but he had one! So we spent most of our run discussing the use of a HRM - see I could still chat whilst running! Just! Still it was a very enjoyable run! Yesterday I was back to being sensible because I was following the hard/easy principle of training and knew I had a 1hr PT session

The Return of the Bleep ...

Yesterday, being Thursday, was gym day. Having worn my HRM on a few runs I was interested to see what it would read whilst doing a gym session. These always feel harder than my normal runs, and as such I expected to see a huge difference. As I knew I would need a shower afterwards (the showers at the gym aren't great!), I changed at work and jogged over there. The session itself was then 10 mins on the tready (5@11mm + 5@10:30 pace inc 1% incline) then 10mins bike (5 mins easy 5mins@90rpm) and finally 10mins on the rower (2 sets of 3mins@2:20 pace 2 easy). Then a jog back to work. I still had a slight touch of DOMS from the squats with the 5kg medicine ball but overall it wasn't a bad session. If I take the whole 45 mins then the av HR was 163 so only just over the golden 70% and looking at the individual bits only the tready was high (like 85%). So not a bad session. Last night I went to show Gnome my dress and to my shock and horror it was no longer on the Monsoon website. As

Sorry!

Yes I've been a bad pixie and not updated for days. Sorry! I blame my inability to log onto Blogger! So last week … Monday I had an awesome run! Loved it! Tuesday was PT Session and Craig was late (15 mins so I'm getting and extra 30!) and he was nice to me and didn't kill me! As a result Wednesday I went out for my run full of the joys of spring and confident of another stonking run. WRONG!! Looking at the stats it was the same a Monday, same distance and time (hey I am running to time!) and HR was similar but it felt awful. Really hard work and I was surprised it was the same distance it felt that bad. Thursday's gym session was also hard and my calves were tight and my high from Monday had all but gone. Friday came and I was determined not to have a bad run and I didn't, I had a horrid horrid run. Slow, heavy legs and no strength and then teenagers. Big sulk and very down pixie. Last week for a change I had actually worn my HRM. Looking back at my stats and it
