Back on the road to fitness!

Yep - 1st run post FLM today! OK it was a run walk BT styled run ... av hr 145. I forgot to set my timer so all i can say is 3.7m in an hour ish. Brilliant to get out again! Will try to get up early enough to go out again Sunday before hubby goes to work! Oh and Oliver asked me today "when can we go for a run together?" so maybe I get some extra work in! We'll see!

And so for an update ...

Well FLM is now a memory - I went there and slayed the Dragon and have the medal and T-shirt to prove it! Anyway since then I've been really tired and also suffered from the "Not quiet a cold" which has developed into a "almost a cold" thing! Which means I've done lots of resting and no exercising which isn't a bad thing anyway! So what now ... well I'm going to start back slowly, physio has said to cross train for a further couple of weeks (I see him next week having turned up 24hrs late for this week's appointment!). I'm also still toying with the idea of the treadmill. I'd love one but then again it's a lot of money to spend if I am not going to use it! Anyway so what are my plans - well I do really want to improve now and I'm now thinking long term instead of the next race or event. So I will be updating this site to reflect the new goals in life and make it a post FLM rather than pre-FLM site, and I am not entering next year

Starting Good, getting bad so things can only get better!

The theme of my FLM campaign! December - training going great, get a cold. January - back training, get a cold Feburary - just get back to training, get injured, diagnosed stress fracture! March - gym, swim, cycle, yawn April - 2 runs and FLM!!! I want to share the last few days with you. Saturday morning Speak to V-rap and Bear and things are going fine! Then they get delay! Get to London and there is a HUGE queue to get the numbers but I don't care the grin is in place! 30 + mins wait for pasta and still grinning! Then Bear (who was looking after me!) and I went to find V-rap and Haggis which took some time! Back to Jump Towers for the most amazing pasta and breads! Mwah to JJ! 1 glass of wine and 1.5l of water and I was off to bed. I slept well apart from waking most hours to check the time! Sunday morning Amazingly calm! Breakfast (I wasn't hungry but was told to eat!) of 3 slices *thick* of bread and 2 coursants and more water. Then off we went. Raynes Park station - Close

And then it was all over!

Yesterday was D-Day and I remember so much yet so little! 6:46:18 is my offical chip time so a PB by 17mins! So very happy! Legs are sore and stiff yet don't seem to have any injury related soreness. Two blisters and a huge grin! Oh and my piccie on the front page of the RW forum!!

All upset

It's 5.10Pm and I'm sat at working thinking "hmmmm shall I go home now?" and my nose starts to bleed. 5 mins later it's still bleeding and I'm starting to get upset, 5 mins later and still got red tissues. 15 mins it took before the damn thing stopped by which time I was all upset. Blood on my desk and shirt, tissues almost gone and tonight's run a right off. So I blubbed. Got a head ache now :-( I so hope this doesn't happen Sunday as I don't want St.Johns trying to stop me. The only thing that is now certain is that I WILL use a bum bag, with tissues in case my nose does go again.

I think it's starting to get to me!

Last night I had a panic atack in my sleep! I had a dream that was really weird, started off all familier with friends and everything was fine, then it all went wrong. I was running down stairs with my best mate. She was infront of me and skipped down the stairs easily and happily shouting "come on" to me. As I started going down the stairs they got steeper and narrower and the stair well got deeper. I started to panic and called out to my friend "I can't do it". I kept on repeating this as the stairs got steeper and steeper. Then the banister disappeared and I was squashed against the wall with no where to go. It was horrid

Today I RAN!!!!

Today I had to wait in for the gas man (no heating or hot water on tap for 3-4 days is tiresome!) and as I sat there I realised that I could do my run this morning rather than tonight! So I started to get all excited and sat there waiting for the gas man to finish fidgetting like a todler deperate for a wee! Then he was finished and I dashed upstairs throw on my sports bra and was out of the door! No HRM, GPS or water ... I was so excited!! I walked to the field (3-4mins) not wanting to tempt fate and then I ran! OK so it was only for 36 mins at 5:1 run:walk but it was fantastic! I ran and laughed like a kiddie! I'm also being very sensible and looking forward to post FLM. I know I have maintained a level of fitness with the bike/gym but I want to say goodbye to the lardy, overweight, slow pixie and find that speedie pixie that I am sure is lurking somewhere in the blubber! I got more money for my birthday and hubby has said I should add it to my graduation money and get a tready.

"I am a temple of calm!"

No really I am!! The FLM site is now in single figures. The long range weather now goes up to the day before. All I can think about is food and FLM! I'm getting little work done and stressing lots whilst eating for England! Wibble!

Physio Update - FLM 10 days and counting!

Well I saw the physio today .. I confessed to my trot yesterday but was pleased to announce that both yesterday and today has seen no adverse reactions! He advised that Monday I should try a walk/run and run on Wednesday and Friday. I will keep these to about 2-3 miles and use the Ivanhoe Way at home which is a dirt trail (former train track) so better than the roads. Really excited now!! Just looked at Meerkats Forum Support page and saw the pictures (glorious sun shine!) and welled up again! I can hardly believe that after all these months and weeks it is so very close now!! So here goes .... WIBBBBBBBBBLE!!!

Wibble!

11 days and counting! Going to try 5 sets of 30 seconds walk 30 seconds run at lunch - will report back later .... wibble! Later that day .... If anyone had said to me that running for 30 seconds would bring me to tears I would have laughed at them! Well off I went with a 5 minute walk to the park to ensure I was warmed up. The park is tiny so 30 seconds meant almost 3 sides of the patch of grass I had chosen to trot on. The first set was done with my fingers crossed - literally! The second was "Normal". As I went into the 3rd my hands relaxed to normal position instead of fingers crossed. The 4th set brought about a HUGE grin and the final set I was close to tears. I was aware of the leg as I expected to be but I can't say it hurt. I then spent more time stretching than I had running! VERY HAPPY PIXIE!!
