Mini Update

Well I've been very good ... I've been exercising, eating well and I've stopped snacking. I've even stuck to the no chocolate rule! I am however tired and run down with a sore throat so expecting the cold to hit any day soon :-(

Not sure about weight as I am avoiding the scales, but my determination has rubbed off an K from work. I was told she would never walk anywhere and that I would never get her doing lunchtime walks with me. Tomorrow she is joining the gym with me having come twice this week as a "recommend friend". We'll both be there twice a week.

Next Thursday I have my 1-2-1 with Dave the PT who also happens to be the gym's "exercise to lose weight" guru. From my brief chat today I was told "keep running outside, keep watching the food and do different things down the gym".

The lower impact exercise has made little difference to my weight but this break has allowed me to focus on food and has got me out of the snacking habit and watching my portions. Every time I think "oh I fancy a flapjack/choc bar" etc I stop and check if I am hungry and every time the answer has been no! I just fancy it but it won't help with my diet so I haven't had it!

So from that view the change was a brilliant success. I've also improved my posture and I'm much more aware of my body and I've even started doing some abs work and weights down the gym! So all great news and positive and yes I am still "in the zone" so to speak!

Today whilst down the gym, the bikes were in use and the rowers had mega slim fit girls on them and a work colleague (mega mega fit 6mins 40 for 2km on the rower!) was by the cross trainers so I hide on the tready. I walked for all of 30 seconds before hitting the speed increase. I did 5mins at 11mm pace, walked for 2 then 5mins again. I grinned, got off and did my abs work. I guess I did actually miss it. So I may just may add the odd bit of tready work in at the gym and see what happens. Watch this space as they say!

Oh and I won't be doing the Reading half but Gnome is doing the Green Park Challenge! It's 3.3km and he gets a tee and medal so is a very happy Gnome! Just need to get him doing some training before so he doesn't get DOMS like after his 5k on new year's eve!!

The Next Three Weeks

So I have a few busy weeks ahead that may, or may not, affect what happens here. So this weekend I am running the Chester metric marathon - should do about 3:30 and get a PB by around 30 mins if things go to plan. Next week I am on holiday and have the in-laws visiting which will be nice. Then after then I have 2 weeks of jury service in Derby. I really want to get a case as I am really interested in knowing what actually happens and what it's like in court. But knowing my luck I will have 2 weeks of waiting for nothing. I have Ami's zoom calls to review and take notes on, books to read, coloring/drawing to try my hand at and Loki to watch! After that the exciting news is my part time request has gone through so from 4th December I will be part time. Very exciting. Then hopefully I can start a potential path to being a swimming teacher. Fun days ahead

What Are You??

Apparently I am a geek after spending some time chatting to a first line support person and comparing degrees!! I am also apparently an executive as I earn more than a certain sum of money! This I must point out is executive in the eyes of a Midlands person and not a southern!! I think I am a runner and a mother because I run and have a son! I don't think I have a career and would struggle to define what I really do! Talking of which I may change the address for this site to blog.html or similar because if I do go job hunting I am not sure if my made ramblings should be front page news!! hehe!! I currently work in IT doing support with a hint of customer service at second line. I run and I'm trying to learn to draw! So what or who are you!?!
