Hmmm Strange Girl!

Yes I think I must be a bit strange! Ok so as princess said PTs do seem to push you when everything says no (I'm sure it was the smile and muscles mind!) but today I still had a slight hint of soreness.

Schedule said 30mins in the gym so off I went. Another 10mins on the tready, bike and rower. All were OK for the 1st 5mins then required focus for the last 5mins. Craig was in the corner with another client and somehow this made me carry on! It was as if him just being there meant I HAD to do it otherwise I would be insulting him! Then again in a strange way when I finished and strolled back to the office (tee off flashing flesh (sorry!) due to being a tad over warm!) I felt rather smug and happy! Yes I was suffering from lack of recent exercise but I hadn't given up!

This week I have done 2 outside runs of 2.45m or 30mins. Last week I also did 2 runs. This week I am now thinking .... 72 days until RFL .... I could get a PB ... wonder if I could get to under 11mm pace? See strange! I'm only just doing 12mm pace and not even doing race distance and I'm thinking of PB's and dropping over 1min per mile off my pace!

As for marafuns - yes Benz I agree FLM is awesome (Bear wrote a perfect post) and I do want to do it again but I am so useless at fund raising that a gold bond place is a definite no. If I get a ballot place I will raise funds but just what I can without any pressure.

Talking of funds ... sponsored slim. Well we did have a lovely lady from Rosemary Conley start at work but the enthusiasm at work seems to have dropped dramatically and she wasn't here this week. I think she may just may pull out. Which means back to trying to motivate ourselves.

This week has been a bit of a mere food wise because I dropped some habits over the last week due to holiday and courses and getting back into them and a new much more active exercise schedule has thrown me big time. I think I am where I was at the beginning of April which is good as in any weight I did gain has gone but I am annoyed at myself. I mean I could have lost some weight surely?! Anyway I have been doing a food diary for Craig this week so I will see what he has to say! I WILL get there!

Right off to pack kit - 30mins run tomorrow plus Sainsbury!! Also need to locate clothes for work! So Nite All!

sounds like the pt been around the gym even when your not paying for the privelidge could be a good thing pix!!!
strange how things like that can make us push harder
like running past someone you know at the end of a long run you can always pick your feet up a bit no matter how hard it felt a moment ago!!
keep up the good work pix

Gulp

I'm strangely nervous about tomorrow. I know it's only 2.5m (x2!) but there will only be a max of 50 runners per leg (only 45 teams last year I think). I'm sure my 12mm pace will be last. I have a lovely casserole (loadsa spuds!) for tea tonight and 2 glasses of wine. I'm now on the non-alcoholic fluids. The lucozade is ready to make and I'm still not sure what to wear! I was going for shorts and vest. Then capri legs and crop top/vest but I'm not sure! If I'm cold/cool I will run faster! But then I don't want to burn up and crash or freeze waiting for the start. If I wear layers will I be too hot .... blah blah blah. Help!! Still not sure what to do "gadget wise". Just watch and guess extra mileage, GPS and stop/start with each warm up, race and cool down, HRM and GPS or just HRM and watch!??!! I'm thinking that I will do leg 1 (1.5m) as a warm up leaving before the race to make sure I am ready. Then stop for some stretches and strides. Th

Something to Say ... About Weight

Most people have at sometime in their lives wanted to lose weight. Most women have been on a diet and at this time of year it seems that weight becomes even more highlighted as an issue not only by people themselves but also by the media. In fact I think that you can get a "TV diet fix" almost every weekday this week! The BBC reported that a recent study by Cancer Research UK found that 26% of obese people did not want to lose weight. More and more often now TV is showing weight/health related programs. The country has a large proportion of overweight people and more frighteningly overweight children. As runners we're almost seen as freaks! Most people can't understand why we would want to get out in the fresh air and run just because we can. Why do that when the heating is on and there is yet another reality TV show on? The bookshops are crammed with volumes on losing weight. Weight Watchers and similar classes are packed to the rafters with people wanting to lose we

Memories

I was 3 when my mother left - I dont remember much but I do remember things. I remember my dad stood at the front door and my mum holding my hand jsut 4ft away. She wouldn't let me get my teddy. She wouldn't let go of my hand. She said it was daddy's fault I didn't have my teddy. Daddy should have packed it. I remember a new uncle coming round a lot. He always had a pad of paper and a pen. He wore a suit and always asked lots of questions about how we were. We being my older sister and I. I remember being left alone in the house whilst she chatted on the phone. I climbed on the kitchen sides as I was hungry and she wasn't listening to me. I ate a pot of multi-vitamin tablets thinking they were smarties. Daddy found the empty packet and took me to casualty. I remember my mother taking me for a walk - 1/2m down the road. She used the phone box. It was one of the old red ones. It's still there now. She made a call and left me outside for over half an hour. I rememb
