Starting Good, getting bad so things can only get better!

The theme of my FLM campaign!

December - training going great, get a cold.
January - back training, get a cold
Feburary - just get back to training, get injured, diagnosed stress fracture!
March - gym, swim, cycle, yawn
April - 2 runs and FLM!!!

I want to share the last few days with you.

Saturday morning
Speak to V-rap and Bear and things are going fine! Then they get delay!
Get to London and there is a HUGE queue to get the numbers but I don't care the grin is in place! 30 + mins wait for pasta and still grinning! Then Bear (who was looking after me!) and I went to find V-rap and Haggis which took some time!
Back to Jump Towers for the most amazing pasta and breads! Mwah to JJ! 1 glass of wine and 1.5l of water and I was off to bed.
I slept well apart from waking most hours to check the time!
Sunday morning
Amazingly calm! Breakfast (I wasn't hungry but was told to eat!) of 3 slices *thick* of bread and 2 coursants and more water. Then off we went.
Raynes Park station - Closed
Wimbledon - Train SLLllllllllllllooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww due to maintenance (great weekend to choose !)
Then off to Blackheath and slllllloooooowwww trains again meaning the gun had gone when we got there!
Still amazingly calm, I get a final huge hug from Bear and V-rap and off to park my bag (I had to do this despite running late) and off to join the end of the end of the Blue start.

Anyway before long I had passed/been passed by/bumped into/meet Shades and Beanz and off we went for a slow slog to The Mall. I was desperate for water rather quickly despite my walk run stratergy of 3:3. It was really hard walking during those first miles as the crowd were so brilliant I just wanted to run - it was easier to take a walk break as the sun got hotter and the miles longer!!

My plan was
1 - Start
2 - meet Nicko at mile 11
3 - meet the forum supporters at mile 17
4 - get my medal

and that's what I did! I feel bad that I can't descibe the even like Susie but there are so many memories I wouldn't know where to start!

I remember pubs bands, DJs, sweets being handed out, people shouting my name, fantastic road showers!, amazing support and best of all running the last 1.2m!! I passed so many people in those last 16 mins and ran all the way! It was amazing! Oh and V-rap catching me after I had finished and collapsed in her arms! Oh and the wonderfuk forum people all congratulating me at The Thistle!

Amazing! So much so that I am now aiming for a GFA (sub 3:45!) by 2008! Bring it on!!

The Next Three Weeks

So I have a few busy weeks ahead that may, or may not, affect what happens here. So this weekend I am running the Chester metric marathon - should do about 3:30 and get a PB by around 30 mins if things go to plan. Next week I am on holiday and have the in-laws visiting which will be nice. Then after then I have 2 weeks of jury service in Derby. I really want to get a case as I am really interested in knowing what actually happens and what it's like in court. But knowing my luck I will have 2 weeks of waiting for nothing. I have Ami's zoom calls to review and take notes on, books to read, coloring/drawing to try my hand at and Loki to watch! After that the exciting news is my part time request has gone through so from 4th December I will be part time. Very exciting. Then hopefully I can start a potential path to being a swimming teacher. Fun days ahead

What Are You??

Apparently I am a geek after spending some time chatting to a first line support person and comparing degrees!! I am also apparently an executive as I earn more than a certain sum of money! This I must point out is executive in the eyes of a Midlands person and not a southern!! I think I am a runner and a mother because I run and have a son! I don't think I have a career and would struggle to define what I really do! Talking of which I may change the address for this site to blog.html or similar because if I do go job hunting I am not sure if my made ramblings should be front page news!! hehe!! I currently work in IT doing support with a hint of customer service at second line. I run and I'm trying to learn to draw! So what or who are you!?!
