Yes I know there is technically one week to go but I won't be around much (if at all) between now and then!
So:
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!! May Santa bring you all you wish for!
Anyway, now for a quick update. Friday I didn't run not only because I needed the rest but because I need Calpol! Yes Gnome has decided now is an excellent time to get a cough/cold! Bless! So instead of a relaxing mug of soup over a good book (yes still reading the Competitive Runner's Handbook) it was a dash down the road to the very busy Fosse Park and play spot the parking space. Then dash to Boots (interval training slalom style), M&S, JJB and W H Smith (well thought I would grab a few last minute bits whilst I was there!). Followed by a dash back to the office.
Yesterday I was thinking of running and almost went out but stuff had to be done and Gnome was poorly so I stayed in. So today I was up and ready to run when I looked out and saw white icy roads. Typical! Anyway I was only planning a short one stopping at Tesco for a paper etc then a walk AKA cool down home. As I had this walk to finish with I started off in my jacket (so I could put it on when I finished running) but it wasn't on that long because it was perfect crisp sunny winters morning. Ideal for a long run! My legs however had a different idea! Combine legs that are still tired (recent increase in distance, number of runs and pace will be the reason behind this one!) and slippy roads and today's run was a slow steady one with a few walk breaks. Still 3m done which saw me increase my distance from last week by just under 10% so ideal!
This afternoon I gave blood so tomorrow I rest then Tuesday I am off home and working my lunch so I can leave early. Add that to the fact I will be at mum's/ down south for just over a week and as I said I won't be about much!
What I will be doing is carry on reading my I mean V-Rap's book and thinking about my training. The how what why and also the logging of information to try and see what I am doing. In addition I have an Oracle course in Manchester on the 2nd Jan for 2 days. So from Monday 8th Jan I will be working hard at work, running and body image and shape.
2006 has been a rough old year. 2 Halves, 2 PBs. 1 car crash, PF and a strained foot tendon. A storming TW and a new job. Very inconsistent training overall and I find myself ending the year at about the same weight, mileage and pace and I finished 2005.
So roll on 2007 and again I say lets make it a better year than this one!
