And the answer is .....

I've decided to go for it ... start with the stone for FLM for my charity and take it from there.

As I am training I need some energy so don't want to diet dramatically just (as Robert says) get the balance right!Today is staff lunch which is always a major challenge as it's free food! Need I say more!

Anyway I will weigh in at Boots at lunchtime and give Stu the scarey evidence.

Was not quite with it this morning so was late putting the bread on for the boys' sarnies so seeing as I knew I would have to pop home after the school run and before work I also put the oven on.

Recipe from the GI Diet book by Rick Gallop (low GI or "green light" as he says)

Dried Chickpeas
2 cans of drained chick peas
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2tsp salt
pinch cayenne pepper

mix well and bake at 200 for 40-45 mins

Good snack food does exist it seems and apparently this is like chips etc as it has some crunch and salt.

I'll report back later!

Talking of my Charity - here is some info.

STEPS is Leicestershire's only Conductive Education service/school for children. They have existed for about 7 years and have Rosemary Conley as their patron. During that time they have moved "home" several times. They are settled where they are now, but the church (who own the building) need to sell the land and they have first dibbs. So they are raising funds to buy the building before the have to move again.

STEPS is a countywide charity, providing specialist support to children with motor disorders, enabling them to lead fuller, more active lives. By helping the children develop their physical, emotional, spiritual and communication skills in a relaxed environment, STEPS eases their integration into school and their own communities.

Go Pix Go

Ah free food that's a tough challenge, very tough challenge. Have an apple and a drink before you go to take the edge of your appetite.

You could try sweet potato crisps - thinly sliced pieces of sweet potato baked in the oven. Mrs W tried it but overcooked them a bit so they were a bit too crispy

There are some truely wonderful people out there

just recieved this by mail from a fellow blogger. I want to share it so everyone can benefit as I have. I've wiped my tears away and I've printed this up so when I am getting sulky and down I will read this and remember .... Aim High! (how appropriate is that name!) Don't EVER think that you any any less of a runner than anyone else Kim, You show a dedication and determination that puts many people to shame. You have a goal for your marathon time which is truly amazing - and I am inspired by it..We all have our dream peaks (sorry about the mountain reference again - I'm a mountaineer too!) - and they are a reflection of who we are and what we are able to acheive - for ourselves - and anyone who can't see the value of that endeavour is blind indeed. When you run your next pb - to me that is as phenomenal an achievement as any world record..and I will bounce up and down like a mad thing at the thought of it - and I get pretty animated when I'm excited about somethi...

Remember this?

Yes I'm back on the bench :-( That sore foot thing on Wednesday... well it's still here. In typical bruised fashion it hurts more after a period of sitting down/sleep and I've been popping the brufen. There is a slight swelling too. Don't think it is laces ... on closer inspection the pain is (looks at google ... gives up and picks up "how to run injury free" instead) on the sesamoids area of the err middle phalanger (??? impressed hey!) In the same location where you would get morton's neuroma but the description is wrong so I don't think it's that!! (oh the perils of a little knowledge from a book or the web hey!) Anyways this means I'm on the bench. No running. I have 4 or 5 weeks until the Suicide Sixish so no panic, I will take 1 whole week off regardless and see what happens next weekend. Also think I will get some new shoes with more cushioning. Now all I need to do is locate my bike and/or exercise bike from the depths of the garage un...

Munchtime Run

Woke up feeling "coldy" ... tender throat, tired and headache. Decided the headache was due to lack of drink the night before as I was talking to Duck for 90mins! So had some paracetomol and drink and packed my kit! My reasoning being that even if it was a cold it was not "on my chest" so no harm in running and anyway the fresh air would do my head good! Spent most of the morning feeling pants too. Headache has still there despite drink and drugs but I had my kit so off I went.1.2m in and the batteries on my GPS died! This meant it was me and the smog filled roads and my watch. As I alter my route slightly every run (so I don't compare splits!) I didn't really know the distance or pace. I did know that when I got to the Ford garage that the office was just over 1m away and I had about 13mins left when I got there. Problem was that it wasn't much further before my legs said "you are having a laugh!" and I started to flag. As I knew I was having ...
