Shattered!

Well I've done 78.6m on my bike this bank holiday weekend and I am totally shattered today!
Yesterday I did 15m to meet up with Beanz and Benz at "my pace" then a steady 10m with the girls to finish. We had a great time and just to set the record straight I was talking about supporting Benz on her 145m GUC race not actualy doing it! Not sure about Beanz though! She definately has some 50m event in kent lined up, mentioned it several times in fact!

My finger is still "numb" but wasn't dancing after yesterday's cycle which is good! Butt is fine too, it's just the energy levels that have gone walkies!

I've worked out that at this rate I will be going to FLM with an 7-8 weeks running taper! Which is a little concerning but hey FLM will be a party! I've decided that I will take a strategy of walking FLM with running intervals, and if I can do 16mm then I will also have a new PB as Abingdon has an offical finish time (Ok so I got lost and wasted about 30 mins but the official time is ...) 7hrs 3mins which is just over 16mm pace.

Suppose I should get ready for work now!! Cya!

{Robert considers making sarcastic remark about races that combine running and riding, buts looks in the mirror and can still see the finger marks where Pixie slapped him and decides better of it}

Hey Kim, this cycling training seems brilliant - you are going to be in such good shape by race day. You will (almost) genuinely be able to claim you did FLM with a broken leg! Keep up the good work.

There are some truely wonderful people out there

just recieved this by mail from a fellow blogger. I want to share it so everyone can benefit as I have. I've wiped my tears away and I've printed this up so when I am getting sulky and down I will read this and remember .... Aim High! (how appropriate is that name!) Don't EVER think that you any any less of a runner than anyone else Kim, You show a dedication and determination that puts many people to shame. You have a goal for your marathon time which is truly amazing - and I am inspired by it..We all have our dream peaks (sorry about the mountain reference again - I'm a mountaineer too!) - and they are a reflection of who we are and what we are able to acheive - for ourselves - and anyone who can't see the value of that endeavour is blind indeed.When you run your next pb - to me that is as phenomenal an achievement as any world record..and I will bounce up and down like a mad thing at the thought of it - and I get pretty animated when I'm excited about somethi...

Remember this?

Yes I'm back on the bench :-( That sore foot thing on Wednesday... well it's still here. In typical bruised fashion it hurts more after a period of sitting down/sleep and I've been popping the brufen. There is a slight swelling too. Don't think it is laces ... on closer inspection the pain is (looks at google ... gives up and picks up "how to run injury free" instead) on the sesamoids area of the err middle phalanger (??? impressed hey!) In the same location where you would get morton's neuroma but the description is wrong so I don't think it's that!! (oh the perils of a little knowledge from a book or the web hey!) Anyways this means I'm on the bench. No running. I have 4 or 5 weeks until the Suicide Sixish so no panic, I will take 1 whole week off regardless and see what happens next weekend. Also think I will get some new shoes with more cushioning. Now all I need to do is locate my bike and/or exercise bike from the depths of the garage un...

Munchtime Run

Woke up feeling "coldy" ... tender throat, tired and headache. Decided the headache was due to lack of drink the night before as I was talking to Duck for 90mins! So had some paracetomol and drink and packed my kit! My reasoning being that even if it was a cold it was not "on my chest" so no harm in running and anyway the fresh air would do my head good! Spent most of the morning feeling pants too. Headache has still there despite drink and drugs but I had my kit so off I went.1.2m in and the batteries on my GPS died! This meant it was me and the smog filled roads and my watch. As I alter my route slightly every run (so I don't compare splits!) I didn't really know the distance or pace. I did know that when I got to the Ford garage that the office was just over 1m away and I had about 13mins left when I got there. Problem was that it wasn't much further before my legs said "you are having a laugh!" and I started to flag. As I knew I was having ...
