I've had a great week!
I've seen Fraggle twice {she's given me some swimming tips so I am keen to try them out (NO idea's of doing a TRI BTW!) for some cross training!} and Gnome and her boys are now firm friends! It was great to see the boys together having fun and looking so happy.
The problem this week has been that I have done very little running! I've been reading until midnight (Kelly Holmes book just now!) and Gnome has then joined me in my bed talking by 7AM!
This week I have done 2 runs which have been slow (12-13mm) of 2m each. The first was 1.75m before I walked! (HR went to 199 up the hill on the 2nd lap!) and the second was 2m of running. I just wanted to plod along and see what happened as I was also worried my legs had started to think that running meant walk/run! Good news is these runs were totally on the road and no pains!
The leg thing was odd ... there was the cramp thing which I think was dehydration related if I am honest and then there was the bruised feeling when I prodded the shin area. I think that this could have been purely the painting! See I used an old pair of casual canvas (2 for £10) shoes as I didn't mind if they got paint on them and they were clean so I could walk in the house. Then because the painting made me too tired to run I made it into a cross training session. It took 2-4hrs on 4 days from start to finish (that's moving the furniture out, painting and then moving it back) and I was using the ladder as little as possible so jumping up and down a lot! Oddly it didn't hurt unless I pressed it so minor soft tissue damage but paranoid pixie used this as an excuse not to run! It's fine now! Oh and I will be getting some new shoes in the Sweatshop sale next week too so no excuse in the future for old trainers! (thanks to Reading Road Runner!)
Now for my goals:
Following another year of succesfull trailwalkers I've had enough! I have to finish this one and I am seriously thinking (I haven't told hubby!) of doing this in 2006.
Weight is now 11st 3 which is 8lb off since FLM and I want to get to 10st 7 min by Christmas.
Brass Monkey is the weekend of hubby's birthday so I think I will skip that and aim for Reading and sub 2hrs 30 there. Which will be a PB by 30 mins ish!
Now my big problem is this - I had this magazine land on my doorstep last week and it's all glossy with lovely pictures in it and and and ... I thought if I entered (but not bequeathed) then it's one towards my 5 rejects and you are in so when I don't get in I could support you at mile 17! This is Fraggle's plan too!!
Race wise I now have done nothing since FLM and probably will only do the Suicide Six (20-11-05) and GRIM this year then Bramley and Reading next year. I didn't think I was up to the Thames run (the 13k or the 5k!) and although I would have done the distance I didn't think I would have benefitted in anyway! So instead we went to have a nice 3 course meal to celebrate Oliver's birthday! (read as ate too much and drank lots too!)
Think that is about it for now!
