T minus 6!!

So after yesterday's efforts today is a rest day. Brass Monkey is this week and I have done all I can. Coach has reminded me that this is a training run for Reading!!

My week will be as follows:
Today: 20min walk at lunch time... brisk walking to shake the legs out
Tues: 40 - 50 mins steady, pref with 1mile:1min @ HM pace... total 3miles (5min warm up)
Wed: rest
Thurs: 30min easy
Fri: rest
Sat: 20mins easy with 6 x 30secs strides (must be in morning)
Sun: race (nb warm up!!)

Today I have walked the 10mins from the garage (taken hubby's car for a service) to work which will be repeated tonight. I've walked round town at lunchtime and will be walking to/from Gnome's club tonight. That covers today nicely!!

Legs have been fine today with no aches but they did remind me of my run after all my brisk walking round town!

Sunday I will be running the 1st mile and then doing a 1min walk at the beginning of each mile thereafter. Running at approx 12mm pace. I'm looking forward to it now and even the weather looks OK!

Only problem today is that this afternoon my belly has been playing up. First it was a stitch like pain so I downed some colpermine before it turned into spasms and now it feels like it is looping the loop as if trying to digest something that isn't there! Still as long as I can run I'll be fine!! I'm eating so fuel isn't an issue and I expect it will be gone later. Just annoying while it is here! Maybe I'm eating too much fruit in my quest to eat at least 5 a day!! hehe

There are some truely wonderful people out there

just recieved this by mail from a fellow blogger. I want to share it so everyone can benefit as I have. I've wiped my tears away and I've printed this up so when I am getting sulky and down I will read this and remember .... Aim High! (how appropriate is that name!) Don't EVER think that you any any less of a runner than anyone else Kim, You show a dedication and determination that puts many people to shame. You have a goal for your marathon time which is truly amazing - and I am inspired by it..We all have our dream peaks (sorry about the mountain reference again - I'm a mountaineer too!) - and they are a reflection of who we are and what we are able to acheive - for ourselves - and anyone who can't see the value of that endeavour is blind indeed. When you run your next pb - to me that is as phenomenal an achievement as any world record..and I will bounce up and down like a mad thing at the thought of it - and I get pretty animated when I'm excited about somethi...

Remember this?

Yes I'm back on the bench :-( That sore foot thing on Wednesday... well it's still here. In typical bruised fashion it hurts more after a period of sitting down/sleep and I've been popping the brufen. There is a slight swelling too. Don't think it is laces ... on closer inspection the pain is (looks at google ... gives up and picks up "how to run injury free" instead) on the sesamoids area of the err middle phalanger (??? impressed hey!) In the same location where you would get morton's neuroma but the description is wrong so I don't think it's that!! (oh the perils of a little knowledge from a book or the web hey!) Anyways this means I'm on the bench. No running. I have 4 or 5 weeks until the Suicide Sixish so no panic, I will take 1 whole week off regardless and see what happens next weekend. Also think I will get some new shoes with more cushioning. Now all I need to do is locate my bike and/or exercise bike from the depths of the garage un...

Planning Ahead

Right well this is the start of my week's plan! Tomorrow I will do test run on the tready afterwork which means I can easily stop if not right. Thursday I have the Christmas play to watch! Sunday I WILL GET UP EARLY and do a 2hr run! Problem is driving along thinking about where to run isn't a good idea when it's 5:30 rush hour traffic home! I've still not got my route planned. 2hrs will be 9+m I think and I don't really want to hit the main roads, much rather potter about on the back roads and the trail, I just don't know them so don't know which roads are safe to run on! Me finks I may do a detor on the way to work tomorrow!! hehe
