Been Plodding!

Right then ... as previously discussed (haha sounds like I'm in a board meeting!) ...

Yesterday I went a plodding. Walking warm up (up hill!) then 5 sets of 2 run 4 walk. Felt odd walking so soon and for so long but as I was running properly (10mm pace or below) I realised that RW do actually know what they are talking about!! 2mins is long enough to maintain the pace and form which is a good thing (as a bee might say!)

Having had a long time off proper running and faster running this walk run is perfect! It is allowing me to run at a proper pace and maintain that pace knowing I have a walk break! So far the plan is working and I am maintaining the pace. I hope that by the end of 6 weeks I won't be far off a 30mins 5K and then I will see what to do next as I would like a good PB at Brass Monkey in January!

Edit...

Missed today's run due to playing systems administrator, IT repairs and then being dragged to the pool for a 1hr splash. Only managed to get about 200m of swimming in that 1hr too but did do lots of "aqua aerobic" style exercises so not soooooo bad!

The Next Three Weeks

So I have a few busy weeks ahead that may, or may not, affect what happens here. So this weekend I am running the Chester metric marathon - should do about 3:30 and get a PB by around 30 mins if things go to plan. Next week I am on holiday and have the in-laws visiting which will be nice. Then after then I have 2 weeks of jury service in Derby. I really want to get a case as I am really interested in knowing what actually happens and what it's like in court. But knowing my luck I will have 2 weeks of waiting for nothing. I have Ami's zoom calls to review and take notes on, books to read, coloring/drawing to try my hand at and Loki to watch! After that the exciting news is my part time request has gone through so from 4th December I will be part time. Very exciting. Then hopefully I can start a potential path to being a swimming teacher. Fun days ahead

What Are You??

Apparently I am a geek after spending some time chatting to a first line support person and comparing degrees!! I am also apparently an executive as I earn more than a certain sum of money! This I must point out is executive in the eyes of a Midlands person and not a southern!! I think I am a runner and a mother because I run and have a son! I don't think I have a career and would struggle to define what I really do! Talking of which I may change the address for this site to blog.html or similar because if I do go job hunting I am not sure if my made ramblings should be front page news!! hehe!! I currently work in IT doing support with a hint of customer service at second line. I run and I'm trying to learn to draw! So what or who are you!?!

and then the was three!

Well before now I've had arguments between Pixie and Trixie and today Logic joined in! Pixie siad run yes but not too long cos you ran yesterday and have hardly run in 2 weeks! Trixie said but but but need to do a long run, long runs are good! Logic said runs are good and tomorrow you give blood so won't run and Tuesday you have post blood rest day and a massage! Trixie and Logic then argued it out. Trixie won! Logic then spent the whole run saying, slow down, breath, it's too hot, see now you're paying! Trixie struggled on with the "hey I'm running!" smile on her face until she hit yet another hill when smile vanished and was replaced with serious "I will not give in" face! So that's it then! 6.7m of sllllloooooowww hard work! Will post stats later but they aren't that pretty! But as Leon said - we run because we enjoy it! Today was more of a "I WANT to do a long run" run than a need to do a long run run! Next week I will repea...
