Well? What Next?

I'm going to try and slowly increase my exercise. I have 2 minor goals ... firstly to be regularly doing over 20m p/w (and not stop when I start the new job!) and this leads into my second goal of (hangs head shamefully!) beating Zina at the Suicide Six(ish).

20MPW is something I have never achieved more than the odd week when training for, or doing!, a marafun. I normally hover around the 15m mark. Currently I am struggling to get to double figures! Ideally I would like to get to the stage of being able to run 25-30mpw but that is something that would have to come with speed as plodding that distance is well time consumming! Also running more will use more calories and hopefully lead to some weight lose.

Zina did her 1st run with Leon and I on Saturday and is a natural. 1st run and she does 3.5m without walking. This girl is only going to get better if she trains and given where she lives she will train! OK maybe beat is too hard a word ... lets just say I don't want to be eating her dust or mud as the case may be!!

Today I will be upping the odds ... schedule says 3 sets of 5run 3 walk. Yesterday wasn't a brilliant run so hoping today will be better. Did ponder repeating yesterday but I'm not a total novice and appreciate bad days happen so shant!

Saturday I am visiting (with Gnome) the gym at work ... it's not cheap even with corporate discount, but if it has lunchtime classes in pilates or yoga etc I may do it. That way I can work on some core strength as I just don't do it at home! Also I could swim or gym before work if I can get out of bed in time! Anyway that's all ideas for now ... lets just see!

Post Run Edit

Pants that is all I can say! MAJOR pants! Nessie lied! She said it was the law that I would have a good run today following yesterday's not so good run and in fact it was worse!

Went out feeling nice and positive and looking forward to my run. I knew what the plan said but the sun was out and I had no work to do so thought I would potter for a longer time anyway.

Being sensible I walked for 5mins to start with. Then ran my 5mins then due to tight calves I walked to the mile marker then stopped and stretched. The calves were having none of this losening marlarky and stayed tight for the rest of the run and caused the 5:3 plan to be abandoned.

I tried 4mins running, then 3 then just gave up and did 1:1 just to get back to the office. Not a happy pixie. Will repeat this in fact I may repeat yesterday's 3:3 when I next run which will probably be tomorrow.

Still I went out, I ran and I burned some calories and got some (coughs) fresh air! So not all bad!

Bad days DO happen - and we all have them, honey..!
If you concentrate on running like you did with me, the condition, and mileage, and speed will all come. The trick is to keep at it, and not get pulled down by the Less-Than-Perfect days..... and laugh maniacally at the ones that feel good
:o)

The Next Three Weeks

So I have a few busy weeks ahead that may, or may not, affect what happens here. So this weekend I am running the Chester metric marathon - should do about 3:30 and get a PB by around 30 mins if things go to plan. Next week I am on holiday and have the in-laws visiting which will be nice. Then after then I have 2 weeks of jury service in Derby. I really want to get a case as I am really interested in knowing what actually happens and what it's like in court. But knowing my luck I will have 2 weeks of waiting for nothing. I have Ami's zoom calls to review and take notes on, books to read, coloring/drawing to try my hand at and Loki to watch! After that the exciting news is my part time request has gone through so from 4th December I will be part time. Very exciting. Then hopefully I can start a potential path to being a swimming teacher. Fun days ahead

What Are You??

Apparently I am a geek after spending some time chatting to a first line support person and comparing degrees!! I am also apparently an executive as I earn more than a certain sum of money! This I must point out is executive in the eyes of a Midlands person and not a southern!! I think I am a runner and a mother because I run and have a son! I don't think I have a career and would struggle to define what I really do! Talking of which I may change the address for this site to blog.html or similar because if I do go job hunting I am not sure if my made ramblings should be front page news!! hehe!! I currently work in IT doing support with a hint of customer service at second line. I run and I'm trying to learn to draw! So what or who are you!?!
