Sunny Summertime

Yep despite the sadness of the last few days it seems that the summer is back (for a few days!) so we will get on with life and we won't let those vile people think that they can ruin our lives.

I also want to leave a few hugs about for Cath and Rob.

Right so what's been happening - well this week I have been totally shattered; V-Rap, Bear and Wild Will all said I had dropped my calories too low, so I've increased them again! As I said the other day I've been having a slower week - err like I didn't run from Tuesday until today!

Today I ran with no walking apart from climbing over a sty and walking down the steep nettle and brambled line drop to the Ivanhoe Way! I ran to the leisure centre (1m) in 12 mins then pottered with the kids then ran home (13mins but up hill!) I was going to make it a longer run but decided it was too hot!

Got home and had a drink then walked to the butchers (10 mins each way), home, lunch, library the 1hr in the pool with the Gnome and finally the Tesco run! Now i will rest! Cook tea and drink wine! Phew!

Tomorrow I think I will drag my butt out of bed early for a longer potter as the forecast is for 29!

Stoppy Sulking Pixie

Ok so if you remember (assuming you were listening!) yesterday I mentioned that today would be swimming! Fraggle had given me some advice on how to improve my front crawl so off I went full of enthusiasm ready to master front crawl! 40 mins later I sulked out of the pool annoyed and frustrating and failing to master the front crawl! See like a lot of casual swimmers I "thrash about making a lot of splashes!" when doing crawl and this means my HR sores and I die at the end of 1 length needing 3-4mins recovering at the side of the pool before I attempt to swim another length in any stroke! Fraggle pointed out that if I place my head in the water properly (like look at the bottom of the pool rather than half under) then slow down, breathe out when in the water the breath in as your head leaves the water (I know what I mean even if you don't!) then it will be easier! Sounded good and practice breathing in the house went well!! I get in the pool - this is it. I can do this! Oh...

and then the was three!

Well before now I've had arguments between Pixie and Trixie and today Logic joined in! Pixie siad run yes but not too long cos you ran yesterday and have hardly run in 2 weeks! Trixie said but but but need to do a long run, long runs are good! Logic said runs are good and tomorrow you give blood so won't run and Tuesday you have post blood rest day and a massage! Trixie and Logic then argued it out. Trixie won! Logic then spent the whole run saying, slow down, breath, it's too hot, see now you're paying! Trixie struggled on with the "hey I'm running!" smile on her face until she hit yet another hill when smile vanished and was replaced with serious "I will not give in" face! So that's it then! 6.7m of sllllloooooowww hard work! Will post stats later but they aren't that pretty! But as Leon said - we run because we enjoy it! Today was more of a "I WANT to do a long run" run than a need to do a long run run! Next week I will repea...

Smiley Happy Pixie!

I've been for a run!!! Yep it's true! Well back was fine after driving and doing the shopping ysterday as well as mowing the lawn. I watched the GNR and was jealous I wasn't running so ... I did 40mins of solid running .... longest solid run since Feb! Back fine - only niggle is shoulder from the ouch this morning when I was taking my tablets! No idea why! Felt really good and pace was much better than I expected .... not run for 10 days now! So 3.424m in 40:17 av pace 11:44mm (11.39,11.57,11.39,11.51) very happy! Really enjoyed it and really pleased! So back to training next week (and work). Tomorrow will be 50mins of walk run with a long run in the middle. Wednesday speedwork on the tready and Friday 40mins solid on the tready as hubby has to go to work early. Leaving a long run at the weekend. Fingers crossed!
