Am I Falling Apart??

As you know I've been on the bench due to back problems.

Sunday whilst taking drugs my right shoulder went ouch (I note the right as it's my lower left side of my back that's been hurting). Shoulder was there but didn't stop me running. Got no worse and no better.

Monday I return to work. Back fine. Shoulder there (hurt when I turned to reverse by looking over right shoulder etc but otherwise fine).

Didn't run last night as life got in the way.

Went to bed. Whilst asleep I "became aware" of back as in I was still asleep but could feel that lower left region when I moved. I can pin point exactly where it hurts now. I did get an occasional tingle down the left leg but this could have been in my head I wouldn't like to say (you know the old "what's that?" syndrome when anything hurts!) Shoulder is also still sore, again I can point to where it hurts (well not on me but I could point to it on a picture!)

Now I mention the left/right thing because I am wondering what to do next.

Could I have twisted something (hence the oposite sides)?
Should I see the Dr again?
Suggest I see the physio?
Carry on taking drugs and wait awhile longer?
Run anyway?
Rest?

Very confused and in niggley pain but not chronic pain and wondering.

Help/advice really appreciated!

Pix - IMNMO (in my non-medic opinion) the left lower back and right shoulder probs are connected - possibly you're holding your posture differently or something

I reckon massage too

right - been on yell.com and found 2 beaty places. 1 I pass walking into town and is known as the posh hairdresser/beauty salon (£50+ for a hair cut!) the other is at the uni but only about £2 cheaper and more awkward to get to

So £40 - is that what I would expect to pay?

"Swedish Body Massage

A stimulating full body massage to release stress and tension within the muscles and stimulate blood and lymphatic flow.

1hr 15mins £39.00"

Is this what I want?

can recommend a couple of great physios in Derby (£27 for 45 minutes)

and the sports masssage is said to be good too, though I haven't tried her yet - £30 for an hour

Pix - what bear said - sounds like posture to me. Also what Ruth said... a good old massage should help loosen things up. Think about it. You've been held stiff with sore back muscles for over a week now... would be good to loosen them down a bit.

Pix - you want a 'sports massage' not a swedish one, as it won't go deeep enough. Look for sports injury clinics in teh yellow pages and see if any of those can hep

pix,
Loughborough Uni must have some decent sports physios and masseurs - otherwise these in Derby really are good
thinks - I wonder if they work elsewhere other days?
