Brief Review of January

  • Distance - 68.68m
  • Races - 1
  • PB - 1
  • Car crash - 1!
  • Days running - 16
  • 1 week @ zero miles
  • Average pace normal running 12:14
  • Average pace racing 12:31
  • Average pace intervals 11:50
  • Average pace long run 13:04
  • Average weekly run 15.8
  • Longest week in 2006 (week starts on a Sunday) - 19m

Don't you just love Fetch/David Hays!
Weight down 2.5lb (was 3.5 but gained this week doing sofa work!)

Best month in 2005 was Jan too but at 58.51m I've smashed that even with 1wk off!

Febuary targets:
  • Distance - 80m
  • No races so no PB.
  • Weight down 4lb
  • Average normal pace to be 12mm
  • Long run average pace nearer 12:30

Next racing goal is Reading where I hope to get sub 2:30 if possible!

Roll on Febuary!

Update

Car has been written off - something to do with faulty air bag sensor me finks as it was reapirable before I asked why they didn't go off. Also it seems we were not the 1st registered owners like we thought so a cheque will be the order of the day rather than a new car.

All this means the Ka needs to be back tomorrow so getting to camp will probably be a lift job (thanks Beanz!)

Yeah - me too!

Why's your average racing speed slower than your average running speed??
beanz said…
xfrb - I htought that too - I reckon 'cos she does lots of short quick runs in training but the race is a half

pix we need to make contact over next Friday

Beanz is right Bear - most runs are 4-5m and my race was 13m but it was still faster than my long run pace despite the fact that my long run had only been 10ish miles max, mostly 8-9m!!

Thanks Beanz!

That's odd about the car. Perhaps the engineer looked at the report and decided that car couldn't be made safe again.

What are you thinking of getting as a replacement?

Nice round-up of the month shows your improvement.

The Next Three Weeks

So I have a few busy weeks ahead that may, or may not, affect what happens here. So this weekend I am running the Chester metric marathon - should do about 3:30 and get a PB by around 30 mins if things go to plan. Next week I am on holiday and have the in-laws visiting which will be nice. Then after then I have 2 weeks of jury service in Derby. I really want to get a case as I am really interested in knowing what actually happens and what it's like in court. But knowing my luck I will have 2 weeks of waiting for nothing. I have Ami's zoom calls to review and take notes on, books to read, coloring/drawing to try my hand at and Loki to watch! After that the exciting news is my part time request has gone through so from 4th December I will be part time. Very exciting. Then hopefully I can start a potential path to being a swimming teacher. Fun days ahead

What Are You??

Apparently I am a geek after spending some time chatting to a first line support person and comparing degrees!! I am also apparently an executive as I earn more than a certain sum of money! This I must point out is executive in the eyes of a Midlands person and not a southern!! I think I am a runner and a mother because I run and have a son! I don't think I have a career and would struggle to define what I really do! Talking of which I may change the address for this site to blog.html or similar because if I do go job hunting I am not sure if my made ramblings should be front page news!! hehe!! I currently work in IT doing support with a hint of customer service at second line. I run and I'm trying to learn to draw! So what or who are you!?!

Stoppy Sulking Pixie

Ok so if you remember (assuming you were listening!) yesterday I mentioned that today would be swimming! Fraggle had given me some advice on how to improve my front crawl so off I went full of enthusiasm ready to master front crawl! 40 mins later I sulked out of the pool annoyed and frustrating and failing to master the front crawl! See like a lot of casual swimmers I "thrash about making a lot of splashes!" when doing crawl and this means my HR sores and I die at the end of 1 length needing 3-4mins recovering at the side of the pool before I attempt to swim another length in any stroke! Fraggle pointed out that if I place my head in the water properly (like look at the bottom of the pool rather than half under) then slow down, breathe out when in the water the breath in as your head leaves the water (I know what I mean even if you don't!) then it will be easier! Sounded good and practice breathing in the house went well!! I get in the pool - this is it. I can do this! Oh...
