New Toy on Order

I got an Aqua Jogger!
Why you may ask .... well following a long chat with Aim High! which included me mailing pictures of my foot (!) and sitting down prodding foot as we chatted. As well as seeing the ladies in Running Fox. As well as surfing the net. As well as calling fizzio. As well as searching RW it seems that I have to admit I do havePF.

Reading is in 7wks so I have to maintain my fitness and not sulk! Having already missed 3mths on sofa watch after BM I have already lost fitness and my sub 2:30 seems to be slipping away before I got to give it a chance!

I've decided it it the FLM Demon. 1St proper running injury was training for FLM04. Second proper running injury was training for FLM05. Now I say I am aiming for a GFA and that this year is my base to that plan and I get PF. So No More FLM! I am not even going to mention it and then maybe I can train injury free!

I may also stop running in Jan/Feb as that has been when I have been injured each time!!

Hope to get new toy Wednesday!!

good luck with the heel. I look forward to your thoughts on what an aqua jogger feels like!

Coach Spans used an aquajogger, and it didn't seem to do her any harm :oD

Let me know how it goes - I might get one

susie your comment worries me slightly but I will report back!
Bear got mine from Start Fitness and including express delivery it was still cheaper than everywhere else without delivery
Will I am trying to be positive - been here before. Maybe I would be less injury prone if I lost weight?
Wyn (is it OK to call you that?!) I hope you are right!! Gnome might even get to play too for a laugh as he doesn't like floating so it may give him more confidence!

My Li'l Sis used one for ages during one of her many injury-periods, and she waxes lyrical about the benefit she got from it!!!!

Sounds like an excellent 'toy' to have Pix
:o)

hy Pix, bummer about the PF but agree that the new toy looks great. i'd be really interested in hearing how big a waist it caters for - i'd like to get one but not sure if it would fit round my more than ample middle :o(

hope you can get your foot sorted soon

The Next Three Weeks

So I have a few busy weeks ahead that may, or may not, affect what happens here. So this weekend I am running the Chester metric marathon - should do about 3:30 and get a PB by around 30 mins if things go to plan. Next week I am on holiday and have the in-laws visiting which will be nice. Then after then I have 2 weeks of jury service in Derby. I really want to get a case as I am really interested in knowing what actually happens and what it's like in court. But knowing my luck I will have 2 weeks of waiting for nothing. I have Ami's zoom calls to review and take notes on, books to read, coloring/drawing to try my hand at and Loki to watch! After that the exciting news is my part time request has gone through so from 4th December I will be part time. Very exciting. Then hopefully I can start a potential path to being a swimming teacher. Fun days ahead

What Are You??

Apparently I am a geek after spending some time chatting to a first line support person and comparing degrees!! I am also apparently an executive as I earn more than a certain sum of money! This I must point out is executive in the eyes of a Midlands person and not a southern!! I think I am a runner and a mother because I run and have a son! I don't think I have a career and would struggle to define what I really do! Talking of which I may change the address for this site to blog.html or similar because if I do go job hunting I am not sure if my made ramblings should be front page news!! hehe!! I currently work in IT doing support with a hint of customer service at second line. I run and I'm trying to learn to draw! So what or who are you!?!

Stoppy Sulking Pixie

Ok so if you remember (assuming you were listening!) yesterday I mentioned that today would be swimming! Fraggle had given me some advice on how to improve my front crawl so off I went full of enthusiasm ready to master front crawl! 40 mins later I sulked out of the pool annoyed and frustrating and failing to master the front crawl! See like a lot of casual swimmers I "thrash about making a lot of splashes!" when doing crawl and this means my HR sores and I die at the end of 1 length needing 3-4mins recovering at the side of the pool before I attempt to swim another length in any stroke! Fraggle pointed out that if I place my head in the water properly (like look at the bottom of the pool rather than half under) then slow down, breathe out when in the water the breath in as your head leaves the water (I know what I mean even if you don't!) then it will be easier! Sounded good and practice breathing in the house went well!! I get in the pool - this is it. I can do this! Oh...
