Oh God I'm Turning Into a Slob

I feel like a fat slob. I'm doing no exercise apart from long walks and they are every 10-14 days. I swam last Friday then walked Sunday and that's it.

I'm tired and fat and know that a run will make me feel better yet I can't get my arse in gear.

All I've managed is a bit of gardening and even that is half hearted and just 30-45mins.

I form great plans but CBA. This TW training is doing me no good. The 1st walk knocked me for 6 having only just got over the shock of Reading and doing nothing is turning into a habit. It seems much better to veg in front of the TV and finish my Easter Egg.

The sad thing is I can see it happening yet can't seem to stop it! It's like my diet ... I see myself eating when I don't need to or really want to yet carry on. I feel fat, frumpy, grumpy and tired and just CBA! It's not good and doesn't feel good either.

I need a serious arse kicking [offers up humungous backside for kicking]

You sound like you're knackered, Pix. I was trying to equate TW training to M training. Do you need to do the massive, one-off walks? Or perhaps, a lot of walking, say an hour or two a day?

Food has to be sensible, that's all. Cut out any carp, comfort food and stick to good, wholesome stuff. Personally, I think if you do regular, each/every other day training, you might see more benefit? Just my humble opinion.

Now get off your arse!

:o))

To add to what Ms Womble says...

Food.. check [tick]
Tiredness.. check [tick]

One thought though...?

What would you be like if you couldn't do any exercise...? Like, really couldn't do it. Like Womble says... regular and just enough. Rather than sporadic and too much (which is exactly what my problem is - do too much and get injured or tired too quickly)

There are some truely wonderful people out there

just recieved this by mail from a fellow blogger. I want to share it so everyone can benefit as I have. I've wiped my tears away and I've printed this up so when I am getting sulky and down I will read this and remember .... Aim High! (how appropriate is that name!) Don't EVER think that you any any less of a runner than anyone else Kim, You show a dedication and determination that puts many people to shame. You have a goal for your marathon time which is truly amazing - and I am inspired by it..We all have our dream peaks (sorry about the mountain reference again - I'm a mountaineer too!) - and they are a reflection of who we are and what we are able to acheive - for ourselves - and anyone who can't see the value of that endeavour is blind indeed. When you run your next pb - to me that is as phenomenal an achievement as any world record..and I will bounce up and down like a mad thing at the thought of it - and I get pretty animated when I'm excited about somethi...

Remember this?

Yes I'm back on the bench :-( That sore foot thing on Wednesday... well it's still here. In typical bruised fashion it hurts more after a period of sitting down/sleep and I've been popping the brufen. There is a slight swelling too. Don't think it is laces ... on closer inspection the pain is (looks at google ... gives up and picks up "how to run injury free" instead) on the sesamoids area of the err middle phalanger (??? impressed hey!) In the same location where you would get morton's neuroma but the description is wrong so I don't think it's that!! (oh the perils of a little knowledge from a book or the web hey!) Anyways this means I'm on the bench. No running. I have 4 or 5 weeks until the Suicide Sixish so no panic, I will take 1 whole week off regardless and see what happens next weekend. Also think I will get some new shoes with more cushioning. Now all I need to do is locate my bike and/or exercise bike from the depths of the garage un...

Munchtime Run

Woke up feeling "coldy" ... tender throat, tired and headache. Decided the headache was due to lack of drink the night before as I was talking to Duck for 90mins! So had some paracetomol and drink and packed my kit! My reasoning being that even if it was a cold it was not "on my chest" so no harm in running and anyway the fresh air would do my head good! Spent most of the morning feeling pants too. Headache has still there despite drink and drugs but I had my kit so off I went.1.2m in and the batteries on my GPS died! This meant it was me and the smog filled roads and my watch. As I alter my route slightly every run (so I don't compare splits!) I didn't really know the distance or pace. I did know that when I got to the Ford garage that the office was just over 1m away and I had about 13mins left when I got there. Problem was that it wasn't much further before my legs said "you are having a laugh!" and I started to flag. As I knew I was having ...
