Various Notes!

I've been running for some 4yrs now ... well in July! Strangly I have never felt like I do now ... it's a serious "wanna run but CBA" thing. It's a bit annoying as well which makes it rather odd! anyway I am not going to sulk about it! Just accept it and let my head work it's way through it! I think I spotted something in Jan as, after the crash, I wasn't too bothered about not running for the 2-3wks!

Anyway I'm looking at adding some variety to overcome this! I'm currently seriously looking at adding some weight training into my life. I have some light dumbells and hubby has some weights (never used them since I've known him!) and I have the gym ball and various resistence bands from beginners (green) to experienced (grey!)

I've recently got this book out of the library and it's really good! In fact it's that good that I will be trying to locate said weights and looking to use them!

So my "plan" (coughs) for the next period of time (until I either get bored or locate my running mojo!) is to do some weights and tone and swim (got that Nessie Challenge!) and plod as and when I want. I may even do some Gnome walking (as he wants to walk Haydrians wall next summer!)

As you know me by now you also know I may change this plan!!

Lunchtime Edit!!!!
[drum roll please]

I've been for a plod! About 3.5m only planned 20-30 mins so well happy! Legs laughed most of the way round but I kept on plodding slowly! I think the swimming and walking has helped my CV as I wasn't soaking in sweat (sorry!) or breathing that hard. So 46mins of CV work done! Longest plod since Reading!!!

There are some truely wonderful people out there

just recieved this by mail from a fellow blogger. I want to share it so everyone can benefit as I have. I've wiped my tears away and I've printed this up so when I am getting sulky and down I will read this and remember .... Aim High! (how appropriate is that name!) Don't EVER think that you any any less of a runner than anyone else Kim, You show a dedication and determination that puts many people to shame. You have a goal for your marathon time which is truly amazing - and I am inspired by it..We all have our dream peaks (sorry about the mountain reference again - I'm a mountaineer too!) - and they are a reflection of who we are and what we are able to acheive - for ourselves - and anyone who can't see the value of that endeavour is blind indeed. When you run your next pb - to me that is as phenomenal an achievement as any world record..and I will bounce up and down like a mad thing at the thought of it - and I get pretty animated when I'm excited about somethi...

Remember this?

Yes I'm back on the bench :-( That sore foot thing on Wednesday... well it's still here. In typical bruised fashion it hurts more after a period of sitting down/sleep and I've been popping the brufen. There is a slight swelling too. Don't think it is laces ... on closer inspection the pain is (looks at google ... gives up and picks up "how to run injury free" instead) on the sesamoids area of the err middle phalanger (??? impressed hey!) In the same location where you would get morton's neuroma but the description is wrong so I don't think it's that!! (oh the perils of a little knowledge from a book or the web hey!) Anyways this means I'm on the bench. No running. I have 4 or 5 weeks until the Suicide Sixish so no panic, I will take 1 whole week off regardless and see what happens next weekend. Also think I will get some new shoes with more cushioning. Now all I need to do is locate my bike and/or exercise bike from the depths of the garage un...

Planning Ahead

Right well this is the start of my week's plan! Tomorrow I will do test run on the tready afterwork which means I can easily stop if not right. Thursday I have the Christmas play to watch! Sunday I WILL GET UP EARLY and do a 2hr run! Problem is driving along thinking about where to run isn't a good idea when it's 5:30 rush hour traffic home! I've still not got my route planned. 2hrs will be 9+m I think and I don't really want to hit the main roads, much rather potter about on the back roads and the trail, I just don't know them so don't know which roads are safe to run on! Me finks I may do a detor on the way to work tomorrow!! hehe
