Life in the old bird???

Well today I have ... slept, eaten, drank, slept eaten finished my tapisty cushion, drank wine and done some wrapping.

Had a bath at 3 and got out of my PJ's and started to feel better. Washed my hair at 7 feeling much better (and that was before the wine!)

I WON'T go to work tomorrow as I feel tired still and run down and well I don't want to, I want to get over this lurgy properly so I can see the family feeling healthy, enjoy Christmas and start FLM training in earnest feeling refreshed!

I didn't go to club tonight and felt bad about that seeing as they were having a Christmas drink after but that's life sometimes. I would still like to do a long run this week but sensible head says make it a middle length depending on health. I think I will be OK but we will see.

Whilst wrapping I realised I was 2 small presents short. I have all our pressies but Oliver wanted to give people a present which meant a quick re-shuffle and now I am short. Tomorrow I will pop to tesco and hope to find some little manly presents for the grandads!

The tapistry that I started whilst pregnant looks good - I'm really pleased with it! Yes it looks hand made rather than shop bought (not quiet square!) but that shows it was me that put the time in and makes it special. I've enjoyed doing it too! I have an embrodery to finish (again a good 7-8 yrs old!) which I will give to mum and then I may get one of those teddy bear sets to make! Obviously I should be using my evenings for pilates, toning etc and when i get into the swing of marathon training I will! No really I will!

But now I'm tired again! I should change the bed sheets from where I had a nose bleed last night but tiredness has hit fairly quickly so that can be done tomorrow once hubby gets up (he's on nights!)

Yawn .... stretch ... night folks!

There are some truely wonderful people out there

just recieved this by mail from a fellow blogger. I want to share it so everyone can benefit as I have. I've wiped my tears away and I've printed this up so when I am getting sulky and down I will read this and remember .... Aim High! (how appropriate is that name!) Don't EVER think that you any any less of a runner than anyone else Kim, You show a dedication and determination that puts many people to shame. You have a goal for your marathon time which is truly amazing - and I am inspired by it..We all have our dream peaks (sorry about the mountain reference again - I'm a mountaineer too!) - and they are a reflection of who we are and what we are able to acheive - for ourselves - and anyone who can't see the value of that endeavour is blind indeed. When you run your next pb - to me that is as phenomenal an achievement as any world record..and I will bounce up and down like a mad thing at the thought of it - and I get pretty animated when I'm excited about somethi...

Remember this?

Yes I'm back on the bench :-( That sore foot thing on Wednesday... well it's still here. In typical bruised fashion it hurts more after a period of sitting down/sleep and I've been popping the brufen. There is a slight swelling too. Don't think it is laces ... on closer inspection the pain is (looks at google ... gives up and picks up "how to run injury free" instead) on the sesamoids area of the err middle phalanger (??? impressed hey!) In the same location where you would get morton's neuroma but the description is wrong so I don't think it's that!! (oh the perils of a little knowledge from a book or the web hey!) Anyways this means I'm on the bench. No running. I have 4 or 5 weeks until the Suicide Sixish so no panic, I will take 1 whole week off regardless and see what happens next weekend. Also think I will get some new shoes with more cushioning. Now all I need to do is locate my bike and/or exercise bike from the depths of the garage un...

Munchtime Run

Woke up feeling "coldy" ... tender throat, tired and headache. Decided the headache was due to lack of drink the night before as I was talking to Duck for 90mins! So had some paracetomol and drink and packed my kit! My reasoning being that even if it was a cold it was not "on my chest" so no harm in running and anyway the fresh air would do my head good! Spent most of the morning feeling pants too. Headache has still there despite drink and drugs but I had my kit so off I went.1.2m in and the batteries on my GPS died! This meant it was me and the smog filled roads and my watch. As I alter my route slightly every run (so I don't compare splits!) I didn't really know the distance or pace. I did know that when I got to the Ford garage that the office was just over 1m away and I had about 13mins left when I got there. Problem was that it wasn't much further before my legs said "you are having a laugh!" and I started to flag. As I knew I was having ...
