bleurgh

Yep me is 'ick.
Whole house has a cold and I feel cold, sicky, sore throat and hear achy! Oh joy!

Off for sports massage on back after work so hopefully that will see that off meaning I can get back to running and improving in time for BM!!

Thank you also very much for your support on the beginners idea.

This is something I want to do and I will do but there is also loads to thin about and work out. Like a training course ... next one is in Exeter and I am not going that far!!

Also my own training is important to me and the GFA too so this will need to fit in together. But I am taking on ideas and looking at plans and training and will be, perhaps, writing some "stuff" in preparation. So watch this space but don't hold your breath tooo tightly!!

PS Yoghurt Maker is FAB!

Post Massage Update

Ouch!

Well no damage done but very tight muscles round lower vertibra. She was concerned it had locked at first but I have too much movement so she isn't so worried now but still very tight.

She thinks I had a muscle spasm for some reason unknown and Dr was just trying to get rid of me with the garden thing and DOMS; if pain comes back physio straight away.

Right lower back very ouch ouch tight.

Both shoulders tight too possibly due to spending all day at a keyboard. Has suggested I raise chair so arms are lower as the currently suggested postion tends to push the shoulders up, this would explain why I sometimes get tingling sensations on my shoulders (I didn't mention that cos I was biting a towel at the time!)

Back on Tuesday for more pain. Doubt if I will go again due to the finances but ouch!

PS she thinks that running marafuns is unnatural and humans were not designed for it! Benz had better not meet her then!! hehe!

The Next Three Weeks

So I have a few busy weeks ahead that may, or may not, affect what happens here. So this weekend I am running the Chester metric marathon - should do about 3:30 and get a PB by around 30 mins if things go to plan. Next week I am on holiday and have the in-laws visiting which will be nice. Then after then I have 2 weeks of jury service in Derby. I really want to get a case as I am really interested in knowing what actually happens and what it's like in court. But knowing my luck I will have 2 weeks of waiting for nothing. I have Ami's zoom calls to review and take notes on, books to read, coloring/drawing to try my hand at and Loki to watch! After that the exciting news is my part time request has gone through so from 4th December I will be part time. Very exciting. Then hopefully I can start a potential path to being a swimming teacher. Fun days ahead

Sensible Head

The choice was getting wet or getting wet. I opted for the wet but warm option rather than the wet, cold and wind swept option! So 1m done at the pool including 2 goals being achieved and some board work. I said a while ago I wanted to be able to do 20 lengths non stop DONE and 10 lengths of front crawl non stop DONE!! So happy pixie. Used a different pool today as I wanted to see about lessons for Gnome. It was a nightmare to locate the car park and once I found it, it was full to the brim with cars circling for spaces so I drove the 200m down the road to the free parking and nabbed the last space there instead! The pool is old so not pretty or ponced up but it is clean and in good repair and they do Saturday lessons and Gnome can start this week! OK so he then has 2 weeks off but how good is that! My other option was the pool near work and a possible start mid February! So just need to get the OK from Gnome and a commitment to get out of bed for a 9:30 lesson every week until March (...

Planning Ahead

All good plans and all that! A few weeks ago I detailed my planned races as follows: Jan - Brass Monkey Half Feb - Trail Plus Training Camp Feb - Bramley 10m (poss) April - Reading Half April - FLM Support May - Moonwalk Marafun (if I get in!) Sept - Robinhood Half Oct - Great South Run (poss) This is now Jan - Brass Monkey Half Feb - Trail Plus Training Camp April - Reading Half April - FLM Support GSR is only a vague poss now as hubby is working nights so won't get home until the early hours of Saturday so I can't leave Gnome! Which means I would have to travel down Saturday afternoon which isn't the best preparation for a race and PB attempt! So it now looks like I will need to either make this another mainly training year (not a bad thing!) or look for some local races! At this rate it won't be worth joining club in March as I will have nothing to enter and save money off entry fees!! Hey Ho and all that!! Now tomorrow ... hope to do a quick shop 1st thing (new sca...
