Sulking

Tonight was club run ... have had 2 days off so thought I would be fresh. Again it was really hard work.

Tried the new shoes out (same as old ones) and they were lovely, until I got a blister on my heal (never had one there before ... I can see what it rub on, its the insole).

So sensible head time ... if Fraggle does come up then I will do Helsby, otherwise I won't. I'm just not ready anymore. Really annoyed but if I want to get to FLM in one piece I have to be sensible.

Morning folks .. nice blister on the outside of my heal ... so it rubbed on the in-sole of the shoe. Normally they go down over night but not this one! Still hurts just to stand on hit due to he location so I have a compeed on (which didn't want to stay on so it strapped on with micropore!)
Leon... as you say FLM is the goal and although I can do 13m I think it will take far too much out of me and therefore impact on FLM. The run last night was less than 4m and at 12mm pace, I really couldn't see me running for more than 6-7m let alone 13! Sunday's 7 was really hard. i didn't get to the start line last year and if I don't get there this year it's back to the ballot, and I don't want to go through that pain and the hours of training again!
Sensible head still says no (unless Fraggle comes up - I can't let her down, she needs time out just now). Instead I will do 10m at home max.

There are some truely wonderful people out there

just recieved this by mail from a fellow blogger. I want to share it so everyone can benefit as I have. I've wiped my tears away and I've printed this up so when I am getting sulky and down I will read this and remember .... Aim High! (how appropriate is that name!) Don't EVER think that you any any less of a runner than anyone else Kim, You show a dedication and determination that puts many people to shame. You have a goal for your marathon time which is truly amazing - and I am inspired by it..We all have our dream peaks (sorry about the mountain reference again - I'm a mountaineer too!) - and they are a reflection of who we are and what we are able to acheive - for ourselves - and anyone who can't see the value of that endeavour is blind indeed. When you run your next pb - to me that is as phenomenal an achievement as any world record..and I will bounce up and down like a mad thing at the thought of it - and I get pretty animated when I'm excited about somethi...

Remember this?

Yes I'm back on the bench :-( That sore foot thing on Wednesday... well it's still here. In typical bruised fashion it hurts more after a period of sitting down/sleep and I've been popping the brufen. There is a slight swelling too. Don't think it is laces ... on closer inspection the pain is (looks at google ... gives up and picks up "how to run injury free" instead) on the sesamoids area of the err middle phalanger (??? impressed hey!) In the same location where you would get morton's neuroma but the description is wrong so I don't think it's that!! (oh the perils of a little knowledge from a book or the web hey!) Anyways this means I'm on the bench. No running. I have 4 or 5 weeks until the Suicide Sixish so no panic, I will take 1 whole week off regardless and see what happens next weekend. Also think I will get some new shoes with more cushioning. Now all I need to do is locate my bike and/or exercise bike from the depths of the garage un...

Munchtime Run

Woke up feeling "coldy" ... tender throat, tired and headache. Decided the headache was due to lack of drink the night before as I was talking to Duck for 90mins! So had some paracetomol and drink and packed my kit! My reasoning being that even if it was a cold it was not "on my chest" so no harm in running and anyway the fresh air would do my head good! Spent most of the morning feeling pants too. Headache has still there despite drink and drugs but I had my kit so off I went.1.2m in and the batteries on my GPS died! This meant it was me and the smog filled roads and my watch. As I alter my route slightly every run (so I don't compare splits!) I didn't really know the distance or pace. I did know that when I got to the Ford garage that the office was just over 1m away and I had about 13mins left when I got there. Problem was that it wasn't much further before my legs said "you are having a laugh!" and I started to flag. As I knew I was having ...
