Update!

First of all Friday!

I really enjoyed Friday's long run and was delighted with the overall distance and pace! It felt good and even though it was still walk run it felt like I was actually running!

Here are the stats:

As you can see I managed a good pace and consistently which is very rare for me so delighted!

Anyway what happened next ...

After my run Friday I had a shower, soup and 1 glass of wine then bed. We got up at 5:30AM the next morning and set off to Berkshire! The rest of the weekend until this morning was spent at the in-laws and apart from a 2m brisk walk with mum yesterday it was all spent slouching on the sofa! I even feel asleep for 2hrs Saturday and that was without any lunchtime drinking!! hehe!!

So we get home at lunchtime today, ate lunch and then the wonderful Tesco run. At this point I thought Why not make today's run this week's long run so I can do some gardening etc at the weekend!

So off I went! Today's long run was 30min 3:1, 30 mins solid running and then 30mins 3:1.

For some reason I decided to change my route through Donisthrope Park and as a result I went mountain climbing (well not really but it was a LOT hillier than normal!) Add a horrid stitch that was even worse going downhill but a detirmination NOT TO WALK during that 30mins solid in the middle and the figures aren't so good as Friday but I am still pleased!

So that's 14m in 4days! And do you know what?? Well I did the Bramley 10m in Feb then FLM in April so these last two runs have been my longest for ages and the pace (which includes walking remember!) is literally only about 20secs off my Bramley 10m PB!

So THANK YOU SPANS!! ... I may hate you later this week when doing my killer speedwork session but just now I love you! Mwah!

There are some truely wonderful people out there

just recieved this by mail from a fellow blogger. I want to share it so everyone can benefit as I have. I've wiped my tears away and I've printed this up so when I am getting sulky and down I will read this and remember .... Aim High! (how appropriate is that name!) Don't EVER think that you any any less of a runner than anyone else Kim, You show a dedication and determination that puts many people to shame. You have a goal for your marathon time which is truly amazing - and I am inspired by it..We all have our dream peaks (sorry about the mountain reference again - I'm a mountaineer too!) - and they are a reflection of who we are and what we are able to acheive - for ourselves - and anyone who can't see the value of that endeavour is blind indeed. When you run your next pb - to me that is as phenomenal an achievement as any world record..and I will bounce up and down like a mad thing at the thought of it - and I get pretty animated when I'm excited about somethi...

Remember this?

Yes I'm back on the bench :-( That sore foot thing on Wednesday... well it's still here. In typical bruised fashion it hurts more after a period of sitting down/sleep and I've been popping the brufen. There is a slight swelling too. Don't think it is laces ... on closer inspection the pain is (looks at google ... gives up and picks up "how to run injury free" instead) on the sesamoids area of the err middle phalanger (??? impressed hey!) In the same location where you would get morton's neuroma but the description is wrong so I don't think it's that!! (oh the perils of a little knowledge from a book or the web hey!) Anyways this means I'm on the bench. No running. I have 4 or 5 weeks until the Suicide Sixish so no panic, I will take 1 whole week off regardless and see what happens next weekend. Also think I will get some new shoes with more cushioning. Now all I need to do is locate my bike and/or exercise bike from the depths of the garage un...

Munchtime Run

Woke up feeling "coldy" ... tender throat, tired and headache. Decided the headache was due to lack of drink the night before as I was talking to Duck for 90mins! So had some paracetomol and drink and packed my kit! My reasoning being that even if it was a cold it was not "on my chest" so no harm in running and anyway the fresh air would do my head good! Spent most of the morning feeling pants too. Headache has still there despite drink and drugs but I had my kit so off I went.1.2m in and the batteries on my GPS died! This meant it was me and the smog filled roads and my watch. As I alter my route slightly every run (so I don't compare splits!) I didn't really know the distance or pace. I did know that when I got to the Ford garage that the office was just over 1m away and I had about 13mins left when I got there. Problem was that it wasn't much further before my legs said "you are having a laugh!" and I started to flag. As I knew I was having ...
