Can I go to sleep now???

Wow am I tired or what!

Today I decided that my long run had to be longer, I had to catch up on some miles so I decided to get up early and do 3hrs or plodding. My plan was to walk and run (no set pattern) from mile one.

The alarm was set and I was out of the door at 7.05AM. Stupid time to run. The legs and body were half asleep so the 1st 2 miles were vvvvv slow but hey the HR was low!! Ended up doing 13.4m in 3hrs 10 with an av HR of 166 (pace a slow 14.19mm!!). I walked in every mile and the fastest mile was mile 12! It was the walking that slowed me down as most of the plodding was about 12mm after mile 2. On the good side I felt better than the pre-christmas 11m but they were done in 2hrs 17! I felt I could have done another mile or so but not another 13!!

Got home had a shower and hot drink and protein bar then went swimming with Oliver! Came home and had beans egg and tortilla. Roast turkey for tea - so lots of protein for recovery like a good runner!!

Friday was a good run too. The warm up was done and then off we went for 4.7m of hill work!! I was tired but the legs didn't fall off - av HR 183 and pace was 12.13mm. So I will try to continue with the warm up - shame I can't get to club next week to try again but hubby is on nights and needs to be in on club nights for 7 so no club for me :-( This means I MUST force myself out of the door at home, alone at night ... just me and my head light!

Right off for some R&R or ironing!!

There are some truely wonderful people out there

just recieved this by mail from a fellow blogger. I want to share it so everyone can benefit as I have. I've wiped my tears away and I've printed this up so when I am getting sulky and down I will read this and remember .... Aim High! (how appropriate is that name!) Don't EVER think that you any any less of a runner than anyone else Kim, You show a dedication and determination that puts many people to shame. You have a goal for your marathon time which is truly amazing - and I am inspired by it..We all have our dream peaks (sorry about the mountain reference again - I'm a mountaineer too!) - and they are a reflection of who we are and what we are able to acheive - for ourselves - and anyone who can't see the value of that endeavour is blind indeed. When you run your next pb - to me that is as phenomenal an achievement as any world record..and I will bounce up and down like a mad thing at the thought of it - and I get pretty animated when I'm excited about somethi...

Remember this?

Yes I'm back on the bench :-( That sore foot thing on Wednesday... well it's still here. In typical bruised fashion it hurts more after a period of sitting down/sleep and I've been popping the brufen. There is a slight swelling too. Don't think it is laces ... on closer inspection the pain is (looks at google ... gives up and picks up "how to run injury free" instead) on the sesamoids area of the err middle phalanger (??? impressed hey!) In the same location where you would get morton's neuroma but the description is wrong so I don't think it's that!! (oh the perils of a little knowledge from a book or the web hey!) Anyways this means I'm on the bench. No running. I have 4 or 5 weeks until the Suicide Sixish so no panic, I will take 1 whole week off regardless and see what happens next weekend. Also think I will get some new shoes with more cushioning. Now all I need to do is locate my bike and/or exercise bike from the depths of the garage un...

Planning Ahead

Right well this is the start of my week's plan! Tomorrow I will do test run on the tready afterwork which means I can easily stop if not right. Thursday I have the Christmas play to watch! Sunday I WILL GET UP EARLY and do a 2hr run! Problem is driving along thinking about where to run isn't a good idea when it's 5:30 rush hour traffic home! I've still not got my route planned. 2hrs will be 9+m I think and I don't really want to hit the main roads, much rather potter about on the back roads and the trail, I just don't know them so don't know which roads are safe to run on! Me finks I may do a detor on the way to work tomorrow!! hehe
