Gadget Girl Strickes Again!!

Today my goal was to upgrade my phone and get as much free as I could - i.e. I'm a cheap!

So off I toddle to the CarPhoneWarehouse.

Normally they give £20 for "Trading in" your old phone, charger and manual. This month it's £40. As a loyal T-Mobile customer I get a phone up to £100 free.
So I got the Nokia 6230 with Mp3 Player and DAB Radio and camera for free and the chap gave me the bluetooth adaptor for the phone (thats £50 instead of £40). He then goes on to try and flog me TalkTalk which is there cheap landline phone service. After a while he says I can have free accessories worth £20 so I agree knowing I will cancel tonight! So he says he will get me a free facia and cover which I agree to .... but the cover was £14 and the cover was £20!
So I got the lot for free! Very nice thank you!!

So I have installed the bluetooth at work and uploaded 2 songs and will test out the MP3 player at the gym tonight! Sorted!

Not fair I want a new mobile phone plus lots of gadgets for free. Not that I ever use mine often. I buy about £10 of credit every couple of months.

I don't buy phone gadgets Rob! I get them free, I buy running gadgets!!
I hardly use my ohone either but it's a security blanket. I won't go for a run without my phone (apart from club runs) incase I need to call someone (like I injury myself etc) so having one that plays me music too is cool!

We have 3 PC's in the house Laura - I graduated with a Computing degree last year, I work in IT adn live on the Internet. Does that count???
I've never got into Palms though, never far enough away from a PC to need one!!
Oh and Free is good!My last phone cost me £9 for a cover! Got that free this time! Hubby wasn't impressed though, just doesn't understand! I may be tempted to buy some more memory as it only comes with a 32mb memory card which is about 8-10 songs so I may get 128Mb card, now if I had thought I should have got that instead of a fascia - damn!

We're a 3 PC Household (4 if you count the 166 in the loft). Did have a Palm but gave up on it.

Now I just want a more powerful PC - 450 is too slow now.

The Next Three Weeks

So I have a few busy weeks ahead that may, or may not, affect what happens here. So this weekend I am running the Chester metric marathon - should do about 3:30 and get a PB by around 30 mins if things go to plan. Next week I am on holiday and have the in-laws visiting which will be nice. Then after then I have 2 weeks of jury service in Derby. I really want to get a case as I am really interested in knowing what actually happens and what it's like in court. But knowing my luck I will have 2 weeks of waiting for nothing. I have Ami's zoom calls to review and take notes on, books to read, coloring/drawing to try my hand at and Loki to watch! After that the exciting news is my part time request has gone through so from 4th December I will be part time. Very exciting. Then hopefully I can start a potential path to being a swimming teacher. Fun days ahead

Sensible Head

The choice was getting wet or getting wet. I opted for the wet but warm option rather than the wet, cold and wind swept option! So 1m done at the pool including 2 goals being achieved and some board work. I said a while ago I wanted to be able to do 20 lengths non stop DONE and 10 lengths of front crawl non stop DONE!! So happy pixie. Used a different pool today as I wanted to see about lessons for Gnome. It was a nightmare to locate the car park and once I found it, it was full to the brim with cars circling for spaces so I drove the 200m down the road to the free parking and nabbed the last space there instead! The pool is old so not pretty or ponced up but it is clean and in good repair and they do Saturday lessons and Gnome can start this week! OK so he then has 2 weeks off but how good is that! My other option was the pool near work and a possible start mid February! So just need to get the OK from Gnome and a commitment to get out of bed for a 9:30 lesson every week until March (...

Planning Ahead

All good plans and all that! A few weeks ago I detailed my planned races as follows: Jan - Brass Monkey Half Feb - Trail Plus Training Camp Feb - Bramley 10m (poss) April - Reading Half April - FLM Support May - Moonwalk Marafun (if I get in!) Sept - Robinhood Half Oct - Great South Run (poss) This is now Jan - Brass Monkey Half Feb - Trail Plus Training Camp April - Reading Half April - FLM Support GSR is only a vague poss now as hubby is working nights so won't get home until the early hours of Saturday so I can't leave Gnome! Which means I would have to travel down Saturday afternoon which isn't the best preparation for a race and PB attempt! So it now looks like I will need to either make this another mainly training year (not a bad thing!) or look for some local races! At this rate it won't be worth joining club in March as I will have nothing to enter and save money off entry fees!! Hey Ho and all that!! Now tomorrow ... hope to do a quick shop 1st thing (new sca...
