Last Visit to the Physio

I hope!
Well I last saw him the week of FLM as my next appointment was missed by 24hrs! I have checked that I have an appointment today! 12:20. As my BUPA money has run out I will be saying "sorry last visit cos I have no money!"
I will be showing him my training plan (and taking in what he says whilst still planning to follow Span's plan!)
I will also be asking for as much self help advice as possible to prevent me seeing him again (new year money wise with BUPA is August!! So I have to last until then really!)
I will report back later!

later that day .....

Well I've been and seen the lovely Andy and he is pleased and says I can carry on without him! (PHEW!) I showed him my Spans Plan and he said it was "perfect, exactly what he would have suggested" and asked who did it!

Just told spans and she is all embarressed now!

So THANK YOU SPANS!!!

Anyway I have some exercises to keep up to improve my muscles round my hips and improve hip stability. He also suggested core stability in the form of regular attendence at a pilates or yoga class. I will have another look at this but last time I looked there was nothing close by, otherwise it is time to dust off the DVD!

So I'm on the road back to running and racing and improving!! Can't wait!

There are some truely wonderful people out there

just recieved this by mail from a fellow blogger. I want to share it so everyone can benefit as I have. I've wiped my tears away and I've printed this up so when I am getting sulky and down I will read this and remember .... Aim High! (how appropriate is that name!) Don't EVER think that you any any less of a runner than anyone else Kim, You show a dedication and determination that puts many people to shame. You have a goal for your marathon time which is truly amazing - and I am inspired by it..We all have our dream peaks (sorry about the mountain reference again - I'm a mountaineer too!) - and they are a reflection of who we are and what we are able to acheive - for ourselves - and anyone who can't see the value of that endeavour is blind indeed. When you run your next pb - to me that is as phenomenal an achievement as any world record..and I will bounce up and down like a mad thing at the thought of it - and I get pretty animated when I'm excited about somethi...

Remember this?

Yes I'm back on the bench :-( That sore foot thing on Wednesday... well it's still here. In typical bruised fashion it hurts more after a period of sitting down/sleep and I've been popping the brufen. There is a slight swelling too. Don't think it is laces ... on closer inspection the pain is (looks at google ... gives up and picks up "how to run injury free" instead) on the sesamoids area of the err middle phalanger (??? impressed hey!) In the same location where you would get morton's neuroma but the description is wrong so I don't think it's that!! (oh the perils of a little knowledge from a book or the web hey!) Anyways this means I'm on the bench. No running. I have 4 or 5 weeks until the Suicide Sixish so no panic, I will take 1 whole week off regardless and see what happens next weekend. Also think I will get some new shoes with more cushioning. Now all I need to do is locate my bike and/or exercise bike from the depths of the garage un...

Back to Square One - again

Well it feels like it!! Since my lurgy my running has been going backwards ... work has been really stressfull and the weight has been going nowhere (except my belly) Last night I was out with some of the folks which was nice (the boss paid despite the fact that work may not give him the money - grrr big gripe, shant go there!). Anyway this means I now have a large belly and today I need to start getting serious. Now I know I have said this sooo many times before but I've put on more weight over Christmas, New Year, hubby's birthday and with the lurgy preventing me working any calories off for 4 weeks I'm probably the heaviest I have been post Oliver. I'm uncomfortable and my bra is rubbing when I run meaning I have chaffs all over the place and I feel ashamed. So I MUST lose some weight, even if it is just to get back to below 11st I have to shift something. So sensible head on. Tonight is club run and I hope it will be better than the last 3 post lurgy runs ....
