Can't Admit to being Injured

Well I haven't run since Bramley ... I have my excuses ... recovery, cold, snow, windy, cold and icey.

Today I haven't had any ibruprofen and I think I have done something to me leg. So I will go to club tonight, speak to people, possibly run, probably run!!

Sunday I will attempt a long run. I want to do about 14m but hubby will be at work Sunday morning so this means I will have to get up before 6AM so that I can be awake and out of the nice warm house before 6.30AM. At that time it will be about -5 so NO leon despite what you say I WILL NOT be doing the ice bath when I get back!!

But 1st thing 1st - club tonight!

club run of 3.3m and now I have a sore leg. It wasn't the pace, maybe it was the hills as it was the hills that slowed me down last week.
Will see Dr Monday and get to a Physio.
Looks like long run will have to be cancelled and replaced by something else.
Really down about this all - got my ashby 20 number yesterday and now it's looking like a DNS

oh yesterdays run was far from fast but it was hilly and it was when I got to the hills that the leg started to notice at Bramley (and I slowed down!)
Walking about today has been OK - so it's the impact of running + imclines (I always said I hated hills!)
I may ask if I can start the Ashby race early, the leaflet implies a small field (500) so I WILL be last and don't want to keep the marshalls (my club mates!) out too long especially as club peeps normally run the course on the sat for their own prizes!!
(see still think I can do it!)

Assuming I last the 20m I WILL be last cos I'm slower than you and you know that!!
I'd love a running partner for some of the run if you can slow down for me

There are some truely wonderful people out there

just recieved this by mail from a fellow blogger. I want to share it so everyone can benefit as I have. I've wiped my tears away and I've printed this up so when I am getting sulky and down I will read this and remember .... Aim High! (how appropriate is that name!) Don't EVER think that you any any less of a runner than anyone else Kim, You show a dedication and determination that puts many people to shame. You have a goal for your marathon time which is truly amazing - and I am inspired by it..We all have our dream peaks (sorry about the mountain reference again - I'm a mountaineer too!) - and they are a reflection of who we are and what we are able to acheive - for ourselves - and anyone who can't see the value of that endeavour is blind indeed. When you run your next pb - to me that is as phenomenal an achievement as any world record..and I will bounce up and down like a mad thing at the thought of it - and I get pretty animated when I'm excited about somethi...

Remember this?

Yes I'm back on the bench :-( That sore foot thing on Wednesday... well it's still here. In typical bruised fashion it hurts more after a period of sitting down/sleep and I've been popping the brufen. There is a slight swelling too. Don't think it is laces ... on closer inspection the pain is (looks at google ... gives up and picks up "how to run injury free" instead) on the sesamoids area of the err middle phalanger (??? impressed hey!) In the same location where you would get morton's neuroma but the description is wrong so I don't think it's that!! (oh the perils of a little knowledge from a book or the web hey!) Anyways this means I'm on the bench. No running. I have 4 or 5 weeks until the Suicide Sixish so no panic, I will take 1 whole week off regardless and see what happens next weekend. Also think I will get some new shoes with more cushioning. Now all I need to do is locate my bike and/or exercise bike from the depths of the garage un...

Munchtime Run

Woke up feeling "coldy" ... tender throat, tired and headache. Decided the headache was due to lack of drink the night before as I was talking to Duck for 90mins! So had some paracetomol and drink and packed my kit! My reasoning being that even if it was a cold it was not "on my chest" so no harm in running and anyway the fresh air would do my head good! Spent most of the morning feeling pants too. Headache has still there despite drink and drugs but I had my kit so off I went.1.2m in and the batteries on my GPS died! This meant it was me and the smog filled roads and my watch. As I alter my route slightly every run (so I don't compare splits!) I didn't really know the distance or pace. I did know that when I got to the Ford garage that the office was just over 1m away and I had about 13mins left when I got there. Problem was that it wasn't much further before my legs said "you are having a laugh!" and I started to flag. As I knew I was having ...
